Finger Foods

Kaisey was cracking me up when I gave her finger foods for the first time yesterday. She doesn't like wet and slimey. She'd go to grab it, and then pull her fingers away, and look really puzzled, then do it again. It was SO funny.

More sleepovers! That's all these cute 10 year olds want to do. Kali keeps asking me when she can have a sleepover with her friends.

Sunday

I am very saddened to hear that my neighbor's cancer has come back. I pray to know what they are in need of. Such a good family!

After learning of this, I was filled with emotion when I looked outside to see the Young Men, and their leaders....AND THEN SOME...outside shoveling walks for people in our area. (Dustin has some serious skills on that bobcat!) I feel truly blessed to have my health, and my families health, and to have such incredible neighbors, and an incredible ward family.

More Christmas!

Trent and Abbi picked Baylee up from the airport. We weren't quite sure when she was coming, and we were thrilled when we found out that she'll be here until the 3rd of January.

We FINALLY finished up Christmas.

Baylee brought presents for the kids, that she bought with her own money.

What We're Watching

Christmas Continued.....

We finally made it to pick up Abbi (apparently the rest of the Southwest Valley wasn't involved in the Riverton/Herriman blizzard) then we went to my mom's where the children were furthermore spoiled.

After my mom's, we stopped in to see my cute Grams. She had another Geneology type book for us. We've been getting them for a couple years for Christmas. I absolutely love it. Inside the book this year, was a little piece of a quilt that my Aunt Marica made. On the front is a pic of my Gramps, and on the other side, are pieces of Gramps clothing. I adore this gift more than you could imagine.

Abbi with her loot from our house. At her dad's she got a new Bow and Arrow, and a Pellet Gun.
"You'll shoot your eye out!" Remember that? A Christmas Story. LOVE IT!

The kids with their gifts from eachother. Aren't they cute?

We then had a little feast with our neighbors. I was seriously cracking up...they were trying to relocate the turkey. Trent was telling Loren to "grab it's legs". The bird was totally wiggling around, and lost a leg in the process.

We then broke out the new Mario Kart game. The kids all wanted a sleepover, so Abbi and Lexy slept at the Anderson's, and Kaleb and Alex slept over at our house.

Merry Christmas!

How lucky are we? Christmas started at about 8am. I remember when I was a kid, and waking up at 5am and waking up my parents....crazy thing is, they'd get up!!!

Kaleb and Kali with their loot!

Our traditional Christmas breakfast. Sticky buns. It's our favorite. The best part is that they are SO super easy!!

Winter Wonderland for Christmas 2008

My personal snow blowers! This is our neighbor "Shorty" (Loren). While we were still unwrapping our gifts neighbor Eric comes by plowing our sidewalk on his four wheeler. How blessed we are to live in such a fantastic neighborhood.

Kali Montana. This was one of the best gifts I purchased!

I was going to wait to post this until Abbi came home and opened her presents too, however....due to the BLIZZARD outside, we aren't quite sure when she's going to make it home, and we apparently aren't going to make it to Grandma Thomas' today either! Look for Merry Christmas post #2!

Merry Merry Christmas to each and everyone of you!

Christmas Eve Tradition

Every Christmas Eve, we open pajamas and slippers, and watch a Christmas movie as a family. It's always hard on our off years with Abbi and Baylee. Our family just isn't complete without them.

New Traditions

We've started a couple new traditions this year. One of which is the Elf On The Shelf (thanks Amy C.) It is a very cute story about an Elf, that watches the kids and then reports back to Santa each night. It comes with a (kinda scary looking) little elf which you get to name. We had a blast trying to come up with his name. Each morning, the kids check to see if "Iggy" has moved his location.
The second one is allowing the kids to draw names. (Nothing new there...) But they use their allowance money to purchase a gift for their sibling. (Thanks Laura Elena) It was REALLY cute to watch them get so excited. Abbi said, "Mom...it feels really good to buy something for Kali, and the best part is that it's with my own money!" Then Kaleb's present was picked out. He actually climbed under the cart to see if he could see what Kali had picked out for him. What a stink! Did I mention that he snuck in and half-opened one of his presents? Yup. So that present is now on the counter.....he only gets it if he is good, and his room is kept clean until Christmas. Kids! (I must admit that I did this one year too...sorry mom!)

So, for our third new tradition....the presents will no longer be under the tree until Christmas Eve!

Amy had a little lamb!

I love when she eats her bottle this way! It reminds me of a little lamb! It's beginning to get pretty hard to change her diaper. I feel like I'm in the rodeo trying to rope a sheep! You know in the rodeo how they throw their hands in the air to stop the timer? I do that as well! It makes it a little more like a game for me. Kaisey is also beginning to throw herself in a tantrum! This stage is super awesome...NOT!

Basketball!

Basketball has begun! I love the sports before they become REAL competitive. 90% of the time, it's the parents that do it! The other 10% are just those kids with a REAL drive! Kaleb doesn't have that drive. He had the intensity before he broke his femur. Where the heck did it go? And will it come back?

It's Happened AGAIN!

Merry Freaking Christmas to me! Someone has used my SSN AGAIN to obtain stuff in Texas. I am FREAKING out! The first time was a couple of months ago, they got a couple cell phones in my name. Now, apparently I am paying for some sort of equipment. My name is now Ammy Berney, and I only owe them $1,219.61. I just received a letter from a Collection Agency. UNBELIEVABLE!!!

I am in the process of a dispute...this is ridiculous!

Sledding

Abbi has been begging us to take her sledding since it first snowed. Having a 9 month old doesn't really make that easy to do. But Trent got home decently early, and he took them. Kali was a little nervous since the park they were going to has some SERIOUS hills! They had a blast!

Readers Theatre

Kaleb's class had a readers theatre today at school. He was so excited for me to come! He did a great job!

Kaisey is starting to do that cute little point thing. You know that thing I'm talking about? Where they figure out where their pointer finger is, and what it can do. It's so cute!

Christmas Progression

We got to see what the girls have been learning in their dance classes at Illuzion. I was hoping that Abbi's Company Team would be further along than they are. Hopefully they can pull it together before their first competition which is in March.

The Three Muskateers. Abbi, Lexy, and Addison.

They must have told all the girls to look up when they did the splits, cuz every last one of them looked right to the ceiling. Funny!

The year before last, Kali was at another studio. She ended up crying AND running off of the stage. So last year I was pleasantly surprised when they had this Night of Progression, and I got to see her dance! She would ask me EVERY time we went to dance class, "Am I going on the stage?" At the end of the year, we had a performance at Lagoon. I told her that if she cried, she wouldn't go on the rides. She was cured from that moment on!

Let it snow!

I've forgotten what makes this so fun. Would it be the part about getting really wet? Or is it maybe the part about getting super cold?

But I've already seen Santa?

These pictures are from Trent's National Guard Christmas party. The kids had just seen Santa the night prior, at our Ward Christmas Party. We had to go into the whole shpeal about Santa having other helpers...blah, blah, blah.
