Disney Disaster

I was going to blog tonight about all the fun we've had the last 3 days in Disneyland, until we were leaving the park tonight. DISASTER! Kali fell asleep about 8:00pm. We hit Space Mountain as our last ride of Disneyland. After that, we headed out of the park, along with EVERYBODY else. We were just about out the doors, and I realized that Kali's Sleeping Beauty doll (that she purchased with her very own money) was missing. I figured we'd try to avoid disaster when she woke up...Trent checked at the lost and found, while Sylvia doubled back on our previous route. Nothing. So, I stayed with Abbi, and Kali who at this point was still asleep, while Trent (holding Kaisey) and Sylvia checked inside the store for a new doll. My heart felt a REAL sinking feeling, and I thought it was stupid that I was feeling that sick about a doll. Then it hit me. Kaleb. Where was Kaleb. I told Abbi to stay put, and I ran inside the store to see if Kaleb was with Trent or Sylvia. I knew he wasn't. I found them, and I began to panic. He was missing.

Long story short, Disneyland has a room for all the missing kids. It apparently happens a lot. There were movies, and video games, etc. One of the managers took me to him. I think that I was crying harder than Kaleb was. Which I'm of course still crying now. It's every mothers worst nightmare.

OH MY GOODNESS!! My heart is racing!! I feel for you! Poor MOM! Poor DAD! Poor KALEB!!! TERRIFYING! You hit it on the nose - EVERY PARENTS worse nightmare! (and I think child's too!) Thank goodness for wonderful angels in Disney! I'm glad to hear you are all safe and sound! I nearly canceled our trip to Disney because of that fear...It's nice (and comforting) to know that they are prepared for such incidents.... Maybe in a few days - you'll be able to share the joys...but, Oh my goodness... I'm feeling your anxiety! This is when I LOVE those LEASHES for kids! I swore I'd never use one...but guess what.. our trip to Disney - was equipped with a leash! (Sometimes my bigger kids needed them too! even DAD!) Prayers were surely answered today! We'll pray for your continued safety and a watchful eye upon you all....

That is the worst feeling for sure! I 'lost' Emma at Target and that feeling is unforgetable! When we were there over Christmas, it was so crowded that we couldn't even hold hands without someone busting through them. I made each of them hold one strap on my backpack at all times so my hands were still free. I was the crazy Mom yelling at my 8 year old- " HOLD MY STRAP!!"
So I'm glad you found Kaleb, but you never said if you found the doll?!!

That is awful, but at least everyone's okay and you found him. They get away from us so fast. You kinda have a lot to keep your eyes on. So don't beat yourself up. He's okay, you're okay. Now enjoy the rest of your trip.

Faith is counting the days until Kali comes home.

My mom lost me and my brother at the mall once. The mall was well prepared for the situation, which must have happened often. We ended up liking it so much that from that time forward, we always tried to get "lost" from my mom. At the time we didn't realize how it must have her feel. Wow.
